Blogger / Blogspot

Bloglines 1. Copy the code which was emailed to you to your clipboard. (Press the CTRL key and the letter C at the same time.) 2. Login to your account on Bloglines. 3. Click on "Account". 4. Click "Blog Settings". 5. On that page you can paste the html into the Blog Description field. (Press the CTRL key and the letter V at the same time.) 6. Press the Save Changes button. Your counter has now been added to your your Bloglines blog. |
MySpace 1. Copy the code your were email to the clipboard. (Press the CTRL key and the letter C at the same time.) 2. Login to your MySpace account and click on the blog link to go to your "Blog Control Center". 3. Click on the Customize Blog link under the "My Controls" section. 4. Select the Your Own Header HTML radio button under the "Page Header" section. 5. Paste the code you were email into the Header HTML: field (Put the cursor in the field and then press the CTRL key and the letter V at the same time.). 6. Press the "Update" button at the very bottom of the page. 7. Click on the View My Blog link at the top of the page. 8. The counter should now showup on the pages of your blog right above the "sign out" link. |
Radio Userland
Access your browswer-based control panel. Then find this code <%navigatorLinks%> about half way down at both of these places: Prefs > Templates > Main template Prefs > Templates > Home page template Once you have located <%navigatorLinks%> then paste the link/counter code right beneath it. You can use <br /> tags to refine spacing. Finally, republish your entire website to make sure everything is updated. |
Typepad (non-custom templates) Use these instructions for adding the code to your TypePad.com or Blogs.com weblog manually (note these instructions do not apply if you are using the advanced template feature). 1. Select the code which was emailed to you with your mouse. 2. Copy it to the clipboard. (Press the CTRL key and the letter C at the same time.) 3. Login to your account and go to the TypeList section of the account. 4. Create a 'Link Typelist' for the counter/banner. 5. Select Typelist > Edit > (Typelist name you just created). 6. Click on the "add a new item" link. 7. Paste the code into the Notes field for the TypeList (Put the cursor in the field and then press the CTRL key and the letter V at the same time.). 8. Press the "Save and Update" button. 9. Select: Configure > (Name of List) > Display Notes > As Text. 10. The counter should now show up on the pages of your weblog. If it doesn't, make sure the typelist has been added to your weblog. Also: make sure your typelist notes are configured to display "As Text" instead of "As Tooltips". The setting is in TypeLists->Configuration->(2) Advanced Configuration->Display notes |
WordPress (hosted on your own server) Instructions tag at the bottom of that template.These are the instructions for adding a Site Meter web counter and tracker to your WordPress blog. These instructions are for a WordPress blog that is hosted on your own server. If your blog is hosted at WordPress.com, there are different instructions you'll need to follow. 1. Select the HTML code in the box (below) with your mouse. 2. Copy it to the clipboard. (Press the CTRL key and the letter C at the same time.) 3. Login to WordPress. 4. Click on the Presentations tab. 5. Click on the Theme Editor tab. 6. In the dropdown list at the top of the page, select the theme you want to add Site Meter. 7. Click on the Sidebar Template theme file from the list on the right side of the page. 8. Paste the Site Meter HTML before the closing (Put the cursor in the field and then press the CTRL key and the letter V at the same time.). 9. Press the Update File button and Site Meter should showup on the pages of your weblog in the side bar. If the button isn't there and it instead says "If this file was writable you could edit it.", you will need to first change the file permissions so that you can modify the file and repeat the steps again. |
